Municipality of De Ronde Venen has selected project developer Blink to develop the new residential area on the Argon site in Mijdrecht. Blink emerged as the best after a careful selection procedure in which quality, sustainability and innovation were key factors.
The district already has a name: De Veenhoven. It will be an attractive residential area with 118 homes, including 35 social rented homes (30%), 45 affordable owner-occupied homes (38%) and 38 private-sector homes (32%). The plan is mainly aimed at starters and senior citizens. Cazas Wonen will develop the part intended for social rent itself. De Veenhoven will be a neighbourhood where residents can live, relax, cycle, walk and meet each other in a pleasant and safe environment.
Alderman Anja Vijselaar: “The development of the Argon site is a good step in the growth and development of Mijdrecht. We are very pleased with the selection of Blink for this important project. Very special about the plan are the communal facilities. There will be a communal storage room, a dining and living garden, a neighbourhood app and a neighbourhood liaison officer. The new residents take care of their neighbourhood together. This creates a strong sense of community. We look forward to working with Blink and to the successful realisation of this beautiful project.”
Regional director Stefan Boere: “The Veenhoven has a distinct Blink signature. It represents everything we stand for: developing vibrant neighbourhoods that put health, happiness and sustainability at the centre, as well as being future-proof. We use a sustainable mix of materials in this development. The green spaces and amenities such as the centrally located neighbourhood barn provide a meeting place where residents and neighbours can come together. Another showpiece in this design is the focus on climate-proof water management. Excess rainwater is captured and partly flows back into the public space and natural wadis. This also safeguards the ecological balance and water management in the surrounding area.” Construction of the homes will be carried out by Janssen de Jong Bouw, a partner who shares our vision of sustainability and quality.
Planning
The sale of the homes will start in early 2026. Construction of De Veenhoven is expected to start in mid-2026. The first homes will be completed in 2028.
